3 WRST 3 WRITERS PROCEDURES
(A) Explain the importance of:
(i) The correct telephone procedures and message recording techniques
(ii) Correct message passing procedures
(iii) Explain the importance of security and confidentiality
(B) Demonstrate a practical knowledge of ships office routines
(i) Units filing system - permanent and temporary memoranda
(ii) Routine for receiving & Distributing correspondance
(iii) Finance management

3 WRST 4 WORD PROCESSING SKILLS
(A) Demonstrate proficiency in the use of a QWERTY keyboard by:
(i) Producing a memoranda from text
(ii) Producing a letter from text
(iii) Be able to achieve 12 words per minute with 85% accuracy

3 WRST 5 COMPUTER LITERACY
Demonstrate an understanding of:
(i) Identify the elements that comprise a computer system i.e. Hardwaye & Software etc.
(ii) Switch on the computer system and load and start the appropriate software
(iii) Use the software and produce a simple output
(iv) Be able to save text and retrieve written text
(v) Close down the application and system

3 WRST 6 SCC STORES ORGANISATION
(A) Demonstrate an understanding of:
(i) The role of the SCC Stores Organisation
(B)(i) Demonstrate the ability to perform the basic stores procedures:
(i) Explain the S1099 accounting principle
(ii) Issue stores items and record this issue
(iii) Order badges, Cap tallies, Lanyards etc i.e. Non accountable stores

3 WRST 7 RECORD KEEPING
Demonstrate an understanding of:
(i)(A) Recording stores inventory (B)(i) Permanent loan
(ii) Temporary

3 WRST 8 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
(A) Demonstrate a basic knowledge of:
(i) Unit finance management
(ii) Cadets should observe routine for collecting subs.

When all of the task book for 3rd class have been completed you will be tested and awarded the 3rd class Writer Stores badge and points.
