Air Rifle, Small Bore and Full Bore rifle shooting is an optional subject within the Sea Cadet Corps. Units wishing to offer these subjects must ensure that cadets are taught to handle the rifles correctly.
All Rifle shooting within the Sea Cadet Corps in undertaken in the prone position (lying down).
Junior Sea Cadets are able to take part in Air Rifle Shooting only. At the moment we have no facilities for Air Rifle shooting, however this is being remedied and we hope to offer air rifle shooting in early 2006.
Shooting at Rye & District Unit is undertaken within an indoor range and with .22 calibre rifles.
Only qualified staff who meet stringent safety guidelines are able to conduct rifle shooting.
