Expedition Leader - Grade 5

EL5.

Terms of Reference.

An EL5 will have the ability and experience to lead six persons safely on a twenty four hour expedition in Class C terrain in Summer conditions, moving during daylight hours only.

As this award carries with it the responsibility of looking after groups of cadets, it is awarded by the ASO(ET).

The applicant must:

a. Have practical experience of expeditions in Class C country in summer conditions.

b. Be in possession of a log book containing a detailed record of expeditions and relevant experience.

c. Be at least 14 years old.

d. Be competent and have sound knowledge of the subjects listed in the Course Training Plan (CTP).

First Aid Requirement.
The requirement for this grade is as follows:

a. Adult applicants a minimum of First Aid Appointed Person.

b. Cadets as above or SCC First Aid Class 3.
