Once the group has completed all of their training and practise expeditions, it is time to start planning their actual expedition. This expedition is assessed by an independent qualified Duke Of Edinburgh's Award Assessor. The assessor will check that the group is covering enough distance, that their navigational skills are good enough - all the points the group should have covered during their training.
T.S. Rye were fortunate enough to have a Bronze Expedition assesment last year during the weekend of
15 - 17 March 2002. Many thanks go to Lt (SCC) A. Simister (RNR) and Petty Officer V. Hunt and Petty Officer D. Smith for logistical support - not forgetting the team, who gave up their weekend too.
